In My Classes
"Be Brave. Make change" is the motto for Reconciliation Week 2022. A large group of students joined Ms Adele and Laura from the Newcomb Library for a story and opportunity to learn Acknowledgement of Country through song and Auslan. Being able to congregate in the Library to participate in a simple colouring exercise, brought about a beautiful hum of conversation, building cross age relationships and interest in one another. A very special afternoon. Thanks Ms Adele, you are a shining star who brings us all together.

Last Wednesday the Girls In Charge group visited KSS Personal Training. The group tried some strong women training. The gym owner, Keryn, also shared her own personal journey, which was very inspiring. Thanks Jane for continuing to support our young women in this program.

Aloha friends.
On the 30th May we embarked on our maiden voyage looking at Polynesia. We are discovering that there are so many islands, people, varied cultures, visual arts, language, rituals, food, music and fashion. We are also learning about Polynesian's knowledge and science of the stars and the sea.
I can't wait to experience more about our island neighbours over the next few weeks.
Until then,
Mahalo!

On Monday 30th we discussed the elements and principles of art relating to all aspects of ceramics. Our students amazed Andi and I in every class, with their ability to communicate effectively with one another and how easily they settle into making and creating their individual projects and following our agreed OH&S practices.
Knowing the students are calm, safe and engaged with their work makes for a relaxed vibe in the studio.
Well done artists, I'm proud of you all.
