Newsletter- Term 3 Week 7 2024
What a creative week we experienced at Newcomb Secondary College last week! Book Week 2024 was a blast, and it was great to see so many staff and students dress up as a character or aspect of a book that they associate with or have read- see the image of a few of our staff in costume below. There are many photos of our students in their Book Week costumes in the Be Bold Be Heard newsletter article and on Newcomb Secondary College's social media too.
It was also noteworthy and appropriate that we celebrated the 2024 Year 9/10 Creative Writing Anthology Launch on Thursday featuring several very talented student authors, led, and supported by Mrs Wray. This is a great achievement to have a been able to contribute to a fully published book at such a young age, yet alone at all in one’s entire life- congratulations to all and we look forward to hopefully one-day reading many more of your books!
Further highlighting the talents of Newcomb Secondary College students, we must congratulate our Senior Band Tour students on a very successful Tour of Westen Victoria. We are so blessed to have such great ambassadors for Newcomb Secondary College, and it is great to see the acknowledgement of the amazing musical skills the band members receive from schools and communities outside of our local region. We are very proud of you all and thank you for the way you promote our college so admirably when given the opportunity.
On Monday morning, bright and early, a number of students set off on our annual Ski Trip. This is always a great experience for our students- hopefully, there is enough snow on the slopes this year. We will soon find out when they return on Friday.
Have a great week!
Regards,
