On August 16th our Year 7 and 8 students and staff were able to enjoy experiencing international stories and personal narratives from Mr Andy Wright.
Andy Wright is a world-class performer having spent over 25 years telling stories to audiences in schools, theatres, and festivals throughout Europe, South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He has told stories in over 50 different countries to thousands of children and adults. He is committed to helping children, adults, and schools communicate better, discover their own stories, celebrate their own culture and the culture of others.
Andy encouraged our Newcomb Secondary College students to write creatively using their 5 senses. We enjoyed hearing the historical and geographical backgrounds to his stories especially those from New Zealand and performing one version of a Māori haka together. We are looking forward to his return next year after touring South American schools.
