2023 School Captains and Remembrance Day 2022

As is tradition at Newcomb Secondary College, the Remembrance Day Ceremony, that solemn occasion where we acknowledge all those who died in the World Wars, was conducted by our next year’s school captains.

Eliza Glembin and Georga Dunn, the School Captains for 2023 assumed their mantles with great ease for their first whole school event. Georga explained the significance of Remembrance Day and why we hold an assembly and then Eliza recited the Ode to the Fallen and conducted the minute of silence.

Both girls also spoke briefly of their desire to represent their peers to continue to make Newcomb Secondary College an inclusive, safe and enjoyable school for all students. Both girls enter Year 12 next year, with Eliza undertaking a traditional VCE course and Georga continuing in NSC’s renowned VCAL program. The girls are excited to lead the SLAM students and also represent the students at the School Council meetings.

College Council

The November meeting of the Newcomb Secondary College Council will take place this Thursday 17th November evening in the Food Technology spaces.
