From the Principal Team
By Mr Scott McLeod
As we embark on the second half of Term 2, we reflect this week as Feedback Week for students and carers.
At our Whole School Assembly on Monday, we recognised that there are only 23 days of school remaining in Term 2. With so much to pack in before we enter the mid-year break, both in the classroom and as extra-curricular activities and experiences, it is important for students and their carers to ensure that they remain organised and focussed on what is required to maximise growth and outcomes.
That may mean attending every day, maximising learning in the classroom by being focussed, ensuring due date deadlines are met for set work and that communication with the teachers remain positive and open to stay informed.
Health and Wellbeing
At our Whole School Assembly on Monday, health and wellness was discussed. As we enter the months of the year where illness (the common cold, the flu and COVID) prevails, it is important that we continue to remain vigilant with hygiene practices at school and stay home if unwell.
The health and wellness of us all is a collective responsibility. No-one enjoys being sick or feeling unwell, and time away from school is proven to negatively impact learning growth. Let us aim to support each other in making Newcomb Secondary College the healthiest environment it can be!
Adventure Year 7 Camp
Lastly, I would like to wish our Year 7 students all the very best on their 3-day camp experience at Anglesea later this week. Year 7 camp is a wonderful experience for students and one that they will remember for the rest of their lives. I look forward to visiting the camp on Thursday and sharing in all the fun!
Have a great week!
Mr McLeod
