From the Principal Team

Welcome to Term 4!
What a week last week was! I say this not as a gripe on the amount of work (of which there was plenty for us all!), rather as a recognition of the level of enthusiasm and determination of staff and students upon their return from the holiday break. It was great to see and certainly made the week fly-by!
Events, Excursions & Incursions!
This week we continue to have a packed schedule with a number of extra-curricular excursions, presentations and a bushwalk for our Year 9/10 Outdoor Education students- we wish them all the best. As I write this newsletter article, we have our colleagues from CONNECT presenting Project ROCKIT to students in Year 7, 8 and 9. CONNECT explores the positive potential of technology, upskilling students with online skills to build connected communities, support wellbeing and navigate harmful experiences- all which is very important for our young people to be skilled in.
Annual Music Concert- Tuesday October 17
Next Tuesday night (October 17) we have another great opportunity to celebrate our exceptional students in our college bands. Our Annual Music (Bands) Concert is for the families of students involved in the music program and perform in the College bands- Year 7 Junior Concert Band, Year 8 Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Concert Band and Cold Fusion. The concert will commence at 7.30pm and should conclude around 8.45pm. We will be having several food hampers to raffle on the evening- tickets will be sold on the evening for $1 each. Entry to the concert by donation. Thank you for supporting the students and the program- it will be a wonderful night and we look forward to seeing you all there!
2023 NSC Graduation- Thursday October 19
The celebration of students doesn’t end there, as next Thursday (October 19) we will conduct our 2023 Graduation. This special event for our Year 12 students is a night that they are very much looking forward to and will be a night that they will remember for the rest of their lives. It is a night of recognition of the school journey over a number of years and we are very pleased to be able to share in the occasion with students and their families/carers. With a new venue, 1915, and only a couple of tickets remaining (capacity of 200) we know it will be a fantastic event and a fitting recognition of the efforts- blood, sweat and tears- that our fantastic students have put in over the course of the last 13 years of schooling!
Have a great week!

Mr McLeod
