The following lunchtime clubs are scheduled to run during all terms. They are open to students from any year level.
Library Reading Club: Circle of Friends (Mondays) with Miss Marshall
Geelong Regional Library Corporation (Wednesdays) with Laura Farrington from Newcomb Library (fortnightly) - exploring genres and related crafts.
Session 3: 08/11 – Big Summer Read Sign Ups & Design a fantasy map with Rice and fine liners. – Readers Advisory
Session 4: 22/11 – Big Summer Read Sign Ups & Create a Felt Bookmark with sewing and glue.
Session 5: 6/12 – Big Summer Read Sign Ups & Christmas Mandalas/Christmas Trivia!
Library Craft Club (Thursdays) with Miss Marshall
Our Craft Club Year 7s and 8s are already looking forward to guiding the 2024 new Year 7s. We've started off this term with Halloween Trick or Treat bags and polymer clay jewellery making. It's been interesting getting to know the range of tools that the polymer clay kits come with and how to do marbling.
Term 4 2023 Polymer clay jewellery making (earrings, brooches, necklaces and keyrings).
Term 1 2024 Needle free knitting - Scarves using Lincraft Loopsie wool - all materials provided.
Term 2 2024 Cutting and sewing scrunchies, toys and draught stoppers - all materials provided.
Term 3 2024 Crocheting for beginners, making and exhibiting Amigurumi - all materials provided.
Amigurumi : (Japanese: 編みぐるみ, "crocheted or knitted stuffed toy") is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. The word is a compound of the Japanese words 編み ami, meaning "crocheted or knitted", and 包み kurumi, literally "wrapping", as in 縫い包み nuigurumi "(sewn) stuffed doll".
