Annual Athletics Carnival
The annual Athletics swimming carnival was conducted at Landy Field on Thursday the 24th of February. Similar to our Swimming sports, we operated under new Covid-normal strategies to keep everyone safe, including the use of our Covid Marshalls. A big thank you to Kea and Chrystal helping to keep us all safe!
It was an overcast day at Landy Field. However, the dark weather did not damper our enthusiasm or our effort. There were some terrific efforts from competitors on the day. Our novelty events the 3-Legged race and the Egg and Spoon race were a popular competition. A special mention to Cooper Rowbottom who again was extremely helpful on the day, delivering food and drinks to all our staff. Also, another special mention to Shayla Maimur, who competed in all events in her age group trying her very best!
There were also many helpers that helped early to help set up the equipment in the morning. This allowed us to transition straight to activities once the students arrived. A big thank you to all the teachers and support staff that attended on the day. Everyone was very flexible on the day and this assisted in making a successful carnival.
It
was a fantastic day held by all. Stay tuned, results will be out soon!
