School Review- Parent Forum
Last week, Michael Graham (School Council President) chaired a Parent Forum as part of the Newcomb SC School Review. The forum was also supported by Lucy Glover from Valad Solutions, the reviewer assigned from the Department of Education and Training to conduct our school review. Tomorrow, Wednesday November 3, we have our final review day, in person at the school.
Following the final day, we will receive our review findings that will shape our next school Strategic Plan’s goals and targets. We wait in anticipation for what the findings will be and thus setting suitable goals and targets to achieve the proposed outcomes over the course of the next four years. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those parent members of our school community for participating in the forum - as always, your contributions and feedback are greatly valued.
Year 8 Camp
It has been wonderful for us to be visiting the Year 8 students at their Burnside Camp at Anglesea. This camp has been a long time in the making, and we would once again like to thank all of our students and their families for their patience and understanding throughout a number of COVID-19 related cancellations and postponements.
During our visits, the students seemed happy and engaged, and by all accounts were loving the time spent canoeing, mountain bike riding, bush walking and tackling a high ropes course.
Last we heard, nobody had thrown Mr Unmack in the river (yet)! For any students who weren’t able to go on this camp, we would just encourage you to keep an eye out for similar opportunities in the future. It is a great means of getting to know your teachers and mentors, building friendships, and developing leadership skills.
