Staff Professional Learning and Pupil Free Days
During Week 7, the staff at Newcomb Secondary College will be participating in a whole school professional learning experience, focusing on the Berry Street Educational Model.
This event will consist of two Professional Learning Days, on Thursday, November 18th and
Friday, November 19th.
NO STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED AT SCHOOL ON THESE DAYS.
This event was originally approved by School Council in Term 1, and meant to take place during Term 2. However, it was necessarily postponed due to our consecutive transitions in and out of lockdown. The training itself has been made possible through the College’s partnership with the Barwon Adolescent Taskforce (BATForce), and consists of these two days in 2021, and then a further two days of professional learning in 2022.
This valuable opportunity will provide all of our staff with valuable knowledge and expertise. Ultimately, it will serve to strengthen our collective practice and enable for even more positive learning experiences and outcomes for our students. Thank you for your understanding and support of this process.
School Captains 2022
Newcomb Secondary College is pleased to congratulate our two School Captains for 2022, Baillie Mayberry and Presley Johannesen. As their predecessors have done before them, these two candidates will take the role of leading the student body as a whole. But 2022 also brings an exciting new opportunity for them, as we seek to broaden our student leadership opportunities at NSC. Baillie and Presley will find themselves leading other student leaders across all year levels. These additional leadership opportunities will be opened up to students at the commencement of 2022 and we hope that all students consider such opportunities.
