Camps & Excursions
Each year students are offered a variety of camps and excursions for each year level.
The year generally kicks off with a Year 7 Beach Day at Ocean Grove, which helps new students meet others in their year level and be involved in a range of fun and exciting activities. This is followed by a Year 7 camp during the year.
We also hold camps for Music for junior and senior students and a Bike Tour at the end of the school year which includes students from all year levels. This year saw our VCAL students participate in a camp as well, which was very successful.
Every year we also hold a whole school Swimming and Athletics carnival where students can compete amongst one another to win points for their houses.
Excursions, camps and special activities programs provide experiences such as classroom visits to Scienceworks, Melbourne Zoo, Sovereign Hill, the Shrine of Remembrance or even mountain biking on the You Yangs or indoor rock climbing.
We also run a successful Outdoor Education programme, which includes a range of outdoor and physical activities. A bonus of having the Victorian Sailing School as a campus is that we often use this as a location for excursions for a range of purposes.
Our annual camps include the Senior and Junior Band Tour's, held in Term 3, and the much-anticipated annual Bike Tour held in Term 4. The band tours enable students to explore parts of Victoria whilst being able to perform to local communities around the state. The Bike Tour is a week-long tour which rotates every three years between Tasmania, the Otways and Gippsland.
